Sun Feb 16 08:11:57 UTC 2025: ## Double Tragedy Strikes Mumbai: Two Dead in Vadgadi Fire, Multiple Incidents Across City

**Mumbai, February 16, 2025** – A devastating fire at Pann Ali Mansion in Vadgadi, Mumbai, early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two women, Sabila Khatun Shaikh (42) and Shah Jiya Shaikh (21), and left several others injured. The blaze, which started at 6:11 AM, originated in the building’s ground floor electrical wiring and meter box, quickly filling the 11-story building with smoke.

Firefighters extinguished the fire within 20 minutes, but not before several residents suffered smoke inhalation and burns. Three individuals, including Sajiya Alam Shaikh (30) and Shahin Shaikh (22), were admitted to J J Hospital for treatment, while Karim Shaikh (20) was taken to G T Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Two other injured residents were transported to J J Hospital in private vehicles.

This tragic incident is one of several fire-related emergencies to hit the Mumbai metropolitan area this week. A separate major fire at the Asmi Industrial Complex in Goregaon raged for nearly 13 hours, resulting in a 25-year-old man sustaining burn injuries. The fire, which started Wednesday evening, damaged several units and temporarily closed the Mrunaltai Gore flyover. A fire at a 27-story building in Goregaon on Wednesday evening was contained without injuries. Additionally, a smaller fire in a Thane building on Tuesday caused damage to two apartment doors but resulted in no injuries.

Investigations are underway to determine the causes of each fire. The incidents highlight the ongoing need for robust fire safety measures across Mumbai’s residential and industrial areas.
