**Mumbai, February 16, 2025** – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured the rehabilitation of thousands of residents displaced by the demolition of 41 illegal buildings in Palghar district’s Nallasopara area. The buildings, constructed on land reserved for a sewage project using fraudulent documents, were recently demolished by the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) following a Bombay High Court order.

BJP MLA Sneha Dube Pandit met with CM Fadnavis on Saturday to advocate for the affected residents. The meeting followed a January 27th appeal to the VVMC by the MLA to address the rehabilitation issue. The CM’s office released a statement confirming Fadnavis’s commitment to taking immediate action, including convening a meeting to discuss the matter further and instructing the administration to act accordingly.

MLA Pandit also raised several other constituency concerns with the Chief Minister, including transferring Zilla Parishad schools and primary health centers to the VVMC, establishing a modern hospital in Vasai, and expanding the State Transport Corporation premises to alleviate parking problems.
