**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s historical drama, “Chhaava,” has stormed the Indian box office, exceeding expectations with a phenomenal opening weekend. Following a ₹31 crore debut on Friday, the film raked in ₹36.5 crore on Saturday, bringing its two-day total to a staggering ₹67.5 crore. This marks Kaushal’s biggest opening ever, surpassing the combined total of his previous six films.

The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, saw strong occupancy rates across India, with Pune reporting the highest at 89.25%. Mumbai also showed significant enthusiasm with 74.75% occupancy. While Delhi-NCR registered a lower occupancy of 36.75%, Hyderabad and Chennai performed well above the national average. A total of 6407 shows ran across India on Saturday.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, “Chhaava,” which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta, is proving to be a major success, breaking Bollywood’s recent box office slump. Kaushal’s portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has also been lauded. The film’s continued strong performance suggests that it is poised for a significant run at the box office.
