**Hyderabad, India –** Veteran Telugu film actress and producer Krishnaveni passed away at the age of 102 on Sunday morning at her residence in Filmnagar, Hyderabad. Her death has been met with widespread mourning from the Telugu film industry. Many prominent figures expressed their condolences and remembered her significant contributions to cinema.

Krishnaveni, born on December 24, 1924, in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, began her career as a drama artist before making her film debut as a child artist in “Sati Anasuya” (1936). Her film career led her family to settle in Chennai. She married a Mirzapuram Zamindar in 1939 and went on to produce several films through her husband’s Sobhanachala Studios.

She is best known for launching several prominent figures in Telugu cinema, including N.T. Rama Rao, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, and singer P. Leela, in the film “Manadesham,” where she also acted opposite N.T. Rama Rao. Her notable acting roles were in films like “Dakshayagna,” “Jivanajyothi,” “Bheeshma,” “Golla Bhaama,” and “Ahuthi.”
