Sun Feb 16 02:40:00 UTC 2025: **Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Vows to Prioritize Public Servants in Appointments**
Hyderabad, February 15, 2025 – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has declared that appointments to government positions will prioritize individuals who demonstrably serve the poor and marginalized, rather than those relying on political influence from Delhi. Addressing a swearing-in ceremony for Youth Congress leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Reddy emphasized that success in politics hinges on consistent engagement with the public, not monetary influence.
Reddy highlighted the fulfillment of a promise to appoint members of affiliated party wings to government positions, citing the allocation of 37 Corporation Chairman posts. He positioned the Youth Congress as a crucial stepping stone into politics, referencing the trajectories of former Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and K. Chandrashekar Rao. He assured party workers instrumental in the Congress’s recent victory that they will be considered for upcoming local body elections.
The Chief Minister also touted the government’s achievements, including the filling of 55,000 government jobs in the past year, farmer loan waivers, the implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme (a farm investment support program), and the SC sub-categorization initiative. He criticized Prime Minister Modi, and launched a scathing attack on K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), the leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing him of enriching his family members at the expense of the public. Reddy further dismissed the BRS’s attempts at social media smear campaigns as ineffective. He concluded by stating his commitment to fighting for Telangana’s interests against the central government and promising a comprehensive action plan to address various issues soon.
