**New Delhi, February 16, 2025** – The Change of Guard ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan has been revamped with a spectacular new format, featuring an expanded visual and musical performance. President Droupadi Murmu witnessed the inaugural ceremony on Sunday.
The enhanced ceremony incorporates military drills by the President’s Bodyguard (PBG), the Ceremonial Guard Battalion, and the Ceremonial Military Brass Band, utilizing both troops and horses. The display now covers a larger area of the presidential forecourt.

The Change of Guard, a long-standing weekly tradition, sees a new contingent of the PBG, the Indian Army’s oldest regiment, assume responsibility for the President’s security. The PBG boasts highly skilled personnel proficient in horsemanship, tank operation, and parachuting.
