**Mumbai, February 16, 2025** – The Bombay High Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on February 19th demanding a further investigation into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian. The PIL calls for the arrest and interrogation of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray in connection with the deaths.
The petition, filed by Rashid Khan Pathan, President of the Supreme Court and High Court Litigants Association of India, comes nearly five years after Rajput’s death on June 14, 2020. Rajput’s father, K.K. Singh, expressed renewed hope for justice under the new Maharashtra government, telling ANI that he believes his son’s death was not a suicide. The CBI, which previously investigated the case, did not reach a conclusion that satisfied the family.
Rajput, 34, was found dead at his Bandra residence. While the post-mortem report cited asphyxia as the cause of death, his family and supporters have persistently questioned the circumstances surrounding his demise. The upcoming hearing is expected to delve into these unresolved questions. The actor’s successful career, spanning television and Bollywood, is also highlighted, with his breakout role in “M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story” and his final film “Dil Bechara” mentioned.
