Thu Feb 13 11:00:00 UTC 2025: **Oklahoma Roads Mostly Clear After Winter Storm, But Caution Urged**

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOCO) – Main roads across Oklahoma are largely clear following Wednesday’s winter storm, but icy patches persist on secondary roads and in residential areas, prompting continued caution from authorities. Hundreds of accidents were reported Wednesday due to slick conditions.

A cold weather advisory remains in effect for much of the state, with wind chill temperatures expected to dip below zero in many areas Thursday morning. The Oklahoma City metro area is forecast to feel like -2 degrees, while northwestern parts of the state could experience wind chills as low as -8 degrees. Actual air temperatures will be in the single digits and teens, with a high of only 32 degrees in Oklahoma City.

While KOCO 5 meteorologist Jonathan Conder notes that overnight winds helped dry many icy surfaces, drivers are urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially on side streets and neighborhood roads. Numerous school districts remain closed or have switched to virtual learning due to the hazardous conditions and frigid temperatures. For real-time road conditions, visit KOCO 5’s interactive map.
