**Mumbai, February 11, 2025** – A major blow has struck Team India ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to a persistent lower back injury, the BCCI announced today.
Bumrah, who experienced pain during the final match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy but failed to recover in time. He will be replaced by young fast bowler Harshit Rana in the 15-member squad.
In other squad changes, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dropped from the main squad, with mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy taking his place. Jaiswal, who did not perform well in the first ODI against England, will remain on standby along with Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube.
The revised squad is: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, and Varun Chakravarthy. Jaiswal, Siraj, and Dube will be on standby in Dubai.
