**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Gautam Gambhir’s tenure as India’s head cricket coach has been a whirlwind, a stark contrast to his celebrated playing career. Appointed after India’s T20 World Cup victory, the former cricketer faced immediate scrutiny due to his lack of formal coaching experience. Early setbacks, including a historic ODI series loss to Sri Lanka and a home Test whitewash, fueled intense criticism.

Gambhir’s unorthodox, high-risk approach, while successful with his Kolkata Knight Riders team, initially struggled to translate to the national team. However, recent victories have significantly shifted the narrative. A commanding 4-1 T20I series win against England, followed by a 2-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series, has eased pressure and silenced many critics.
