Sun Feb 09 19:05:17 UTC 2025: ## Sisodia Takes Early Lead in Jangpura as BJP Poised for Delhi Victory

**New Delhi, [Date]** – Early trends in the Delhi Assembly elections show Manish Sisodia, AAP candidate and former Deputy Chief Minister, leading in the Jangpura constituency by over 2,345 votes after two rounds of counting. This is despite a strong challenge from BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah, a three-time Congress MLA for the constituency who switched parties in 2022. Congress’ Farhad Suri is also contesting.

While Sisodia’s lead signifies a potential AAP hold on their bastion, overall election trends indicate a clear BJP majority poised to form the next Delhi government. This would mark the end of AAP’s decade-long dominance in the national capital. The BJP, however, has yet to name its Chief Ministerial candidate.

Jangpura has been an AAP stronghold since 2013, with Praveen Kumar winning comfortably in 2015 and 2020. This election marks Sisodia’s first attempt at representing the seat. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva attributed the BJP’s projected victory to the alleged betrayal of the people by the AAP.
