Sat Feb 08 17:48:25 UTC 2025: ## NEET UG 2025 Applications Open: Key Changes Announced

**New Delhi, February 7** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application window for the NEET UG 2025 exam, commencing today, February 7th, and closing on March 7th at 11:50 pm. The exam itself is scheduled for May 4th. Significant changes have been implemented for this year’s entrance test.

The most notable change is the removal of optional questions in Section B, reverting to the pre-COVID format. Candidates must now attempt all 180 questions. The tie-breaking criteria have also been updated. Instead of application number and age, the new system prioritizes higher marks in Biology, then Chemistry, then Physics, followed by the fewest incorrect answers in each subject, respectively. If a tie persists, a random process overseen by an independent expert committee will be employed.

Other key updates include: candidates can select three exam centers within their state of residence; the exam will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm with entry closing at 1:30 pm (candidates should arrive at least three hours prior); and a recent passport-size photograph taken after January 1st, 2025, is required for application.

NEET UG 2025 scores will determine admission to various undergraduate medical programs, including MBBS, BDS, and others, as well as the Military Nursing Service’s BSc Nursing program. The detailed information bulletin, exam pattern, and syllabus are available on the NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in.
