**Mysuru, February 9, 2025** – Authorities in the Bandipur Tiger Reserve have implemented enhanced fire prevention measures ahead of the dry season. Three drones are now being used to detect forest fires, supplemented by infrared cameras installed along the reserve’s boundaries to monitor activity. Furthermore, 465 local villagers have been employed as temporary fire watchers, patrolling the reserve until the monsoon season arrives. All fire-fighting equipment has been serviced and is ready for deployment, according to Prabharan, director of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. This comprehensive approach aims to significantly improve fire detection and response capabilities within the reserve.
