Sat Feb 08 05:41:38 UTC 2025: ## NEET UG 2025 Exam Scheduled for May 4th; Applications Open
**New Delhi:** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 exam will be held on May 4th. The application process commenced on February 22nd and will conclude on March 7th. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
Over 2.4 million candidates appeared for the NEET UG exam in 2024. This year’s exam will determine admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, and BVSc & AH courses across India. A total of 108,000 MBBS seats are available, with 56,000 in government colleges and 52,000 in private institutions.
**Key Changes for NEET UG 2025:**
* **Exam Duration:** Reduced from 3 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours.
* **Number of Questions:** Decreased from 200 to 180, all compulsory; optional questions have been removed.
* **Exam Structure:** The previous two-section format (Section A and Section B) for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology has been eliminated.
**Eligibility Criteria:**
* Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
* Minimum age: 17 years as of December 31, 2025. There is no upper age limit.
**Application Requirements:**
Candidates need to submit a scanned photograph (taken after January 1st, 2025), signature, fingerprints, and relevant certificates (caste certificate, disability certificate, domicile certificate, etc.). The APAAR ID is not mandatory for registration.
