Sat Feb 08 01:30:52 UTC 2025: **NEET UG 2025 Exam Date Announced; Registration Open**

**Kota, India (February 7, 2025)** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the date for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025. The exam will be held on May 4th, 2025, with results expected to be released on June 14th, 2025. Registration is now open and will continue until March 7th. Approximately 2.5 million students are anticipated to register for the exam, vying for around 120,000 MBBS seats across India.

This year’s NEET UG exam will feature a revised tie-breaking rule. The controversial application number-based tie-breaker used in 2024 has been removed. The previous seven tie-breaking rules remain unchanged. A new eighth rule will involve an independent expert committee to resolve ties if the first seven rules fail to differentiate candidates. This change follows controversy surrounding the 2024 results.

The NTA has confirmed that exam fees remain unchanged: ₹1700 for general category candidates, ₹1600 for EWS/OBC candidates, and ₹1000 for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates. Foreign candidates will pay ₹9500. Payments can be made online via debit/credit cards, net banking, and UPI. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages.

Candidates are urged to register through neet.nta.nic.in, ensuring accurate email addresses and mobile numbers. Required documents include a passport-size photo, address proof, 10th-grade mark sheet, category certificate, scanned signature, and fingerprints of both hands. The exam will be held at 566 centers nationwide (552 in India and 14 abroad).
