Thu Feb 06 19:06:34 UTC 2025: ## Zomato Rebrands as “Eternal,” Embracing Ambitious New Name

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Food delivery giant Zomato announced a major rebranding Thursday, changing its company name to “Eternal” and unveiling a new logo. The move, officially approved by the company board and pending shareholder approval, marks a significant shift for the company more than two years after it began using “Eternal” internally.

In a letter to shareholders, CEO Deepinder Goyal explained the rationale behind the rebranding, stating that the name change reflects the company’s evolution beyond its flagship Zomato app. The “Eternal” entity will encompass four key businesses: Zomato, Blinkit (quick-commerce), District (a restaurant discovery service), and Hyperpure (B2B supply chain). The company website will transition from zomato.com to eternal.com, and its stock ticker will change from ZOMATO to ETERNAL.

Goyal emphasized that this decision comes after the successful integration of Blinkit, which spurred the internal adoption of “Eternal” to differentiate the parent company from its individual brands. He stressed that the aim was not solely profit, but to create lasting value and described the original founding of Zomato (then Foodiebay) as a service-driven initiative that unexpectedly blossomed into a major success story, culminating in its listing on the BSE Sensex.

While acknowledging the ambitious nature of the name “Eternal,” Goyal expressed both excitement and apprehension, recognizing the considerable responsibility it entails. He underscored that true longevity requires more than just bold claims, emphasizing a commitment to sustainable growth and lasting impact. Shareholder approval for the name change is still pending.
