**TIRUCHI, February 7, 2025** – A Board of Visitors, led by Collector Grace Pachuau and accompanied by Superintendent of Police Adarsh Pachera, conducted a thorough inspection of the Perambalur sub-jail on Friday. The inspection aimed to assess the facility’s adherence to standards in areas such as basic amenities, security, and prisoner welfare.
The officials interacted directly with inmates, inquiring about the quality of food and water, and the adequacy of counselling services. They reviewed records pertaining to prisoner numbers, staff, and kitchen operations, including a taste test of the prepared food to verify its quality and adherence to government-specified schedules. The inspection also encompassed the records room and kitchen facilities.
