Thu Feb 06 19:07:49 UTC 2025: ## AAP Accuses BJP of Poaching Candidates Ahead of Delhi Election Results
**New Delhi, February 7, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to poach 16 of AAP’s Delhi Assembly election candidates, offering them ₹15 crore each to switch parties. Kejriwal made the allegation on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the unnamed party (clearly referring to the BJP) contacted the candidates with the offer.
Kejriwal suggested the BJP’s actions stem from fear of defeat, citing the purportedly falsified surveys designed to create a favorable atmosphere for the BJP. He confidently asserted that the BJP would fail in its attempts to sway AAP candidates.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva denied the accusations, attributing them to the AAP’s panic following Wednesday’s polling. He dismissed the claims as baseless, citing the AAP’s alleged frustration over public rejection.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh held a press conference to further the allegations, claiming the BJP’s actions represent “Operation Lotus” and an acceptance of defeat in the Delhi elections. While he refrained from naming the targeted candidates, he promised to reveal proof at a later date.
The results of the Delhi Assembly elections are expected on Saturday.
