Thu Feb 06 15:09:11 UTC 2025: **Two Tirupati Temples to Host Concurrent Brahmotsavams**
TIRUPATI, February 6, 2025 – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is preparing for the concurrent celebration of Brahmotsavams at two temples over the next fortnight. The annual festivals at Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple (Kapila Theertham) and Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple (Srinivasa Mangapuram) will run from February 19-28 and February 18-26 respectively.
TTD’s Joint Executive Officer, V. Veerabrahmam, has overseen preparations, aiming for a grand celebration on par with the Tirumala Brahmotsavam. The Kapileswara Swamy temple festival will feature events like the Surya and Chandra Prabha Vahanams, Bhuta Vahanam, and Kalyanotsavam. Srinivasa Mangapuram’s highlights include the “Sobha Yatra,” a 12 km procession showcasing the sacred Lakshmi Haram and Godhadevi garland, which will be used in the Garuda Seva on February 22.
Extensive preparations are underway, including flower decoration, queue management, fire safety measures, and elaborate lighting displays. The ancient Srinivasa Mangapuram temple, under ASI control and maintained by TTD since 1967, has held these festivals since 1981.
