Thu Feb 06 00:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Government Deposits ₹1,126.54 Crore in Farmers’ Accounts
**Hyderabad, February 6, 2025** – The Telangana government has deposited ₹1,126.54 crore into the accounts of 17.03 lakh farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, according to State Agriculture Minister Tummalla Nageswara Rao. The funds were disbursed to farmers owning up to one acre of land, fulfilling a key election promise of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Minister Rao stated that the government is committed to timely disbursement of Rythu Bharosa funds. In addition to the recent payment, the government has already spent ₹7,625 crore under Rythu Bandhu (farmer investment support), ₹20,616.89 crore under a farm loan waiver scheme, and ₹3,000 crore under Rythu Bhima (crop insurance).
The government is also taking steps to ensure remunerative prices for crops. A record amount of cotton (20,11,954 metric tonnes) was procured at support prices, costing ₹14,893 crore. Further, ₹406.24 crore was spent procuring soybean, pulses, and other crops through Markfed at support prices. The government is also procuring record rice yields at support prices, having already procured 48.06 lakh metric tonnes in the Yasangi (winter) season and 52.51 lakh metric tonnes in the Kharif (monsoon) season, costing a combined ₹22,725.97 crore. A bonus of ₹500 per quintal was also paid for small grain varieties, amounting to ₹1,154 crore. This bonus scheme will continue in the upcoming Yasangi season.
The government is urging the central government to set support prices for turmeric and chillies. Efforts are underway to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour power supply for agriculture, along with the smooth supply of seeds and fertilizers. Regular consultations are being held with the central government regarding fertilizer allocation. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare.
