Thu Feb 06 17:05:32 UTC 2025: ## Russia Conducts Stealth Drills with Yars Nuclear Missiles
**Moscow, February 6, 2025** – Russia’s defense ministry announced today that it has conducted stealth maneuvers involving Yars mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) in the Volga region. Video footage released by the ministry shows Yars launchers moving through a snowy forest under camouflage.
The drills involved moving the nuclear-capable missiles along “combat patrol routes” covering distances up to 100 kilometers (62 miles). Troops also practiced defensive maneuvers against simulated sabotage and enemy reconnaissance.
This is not the first time Russia has staged such drills. Similar maneuvers were conducted last year, seen as a show of force and warning to the West amid escalating tensions related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The Yars missile system is capable of both mobile deployment via truck carriers and silo-based deployment.
