NELLORE, February 6, 2025 – Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) in Kakuturu successfully hosted an inter-collegiate staff sports tournament on Thursday. Faculty and staff from numerous colleges across the region participated in the men’s and women’s competitions.
The event featured enthusiastic participation across various sports, with throwball matches highlighted as particularly competitive. VSU Vice-Chancellor S. Vijaya Bhaskara Rao, who presented awards to the winners, emphasized the importance of sports in improving physical and mental well-being and fostering teamwork. He lauded the tournament as a successful promotion of a sports culture within the university system.
Colleges participating included VSU campuses in Kakuturu and Kavali, Dr. S.R.J. Degree College (Atamakur), D.K.W. College (Nellore), SVSSC Government Degree College (Sullurupet), SKR Government Degree College (Gudur), and Jawahar Bharati Degree and PG College (Kavali). University officials including the registrar, principal, sports board secretary, and physical director were in attendance.
