**NEW DELHI** – Abhishek Sharma’s explosive batting performance in the recently concluded India vs. England T20I series has propelled him to a remarkable second position in the latest ICC T20I batting rankings. The aggressive batsman jumped a staggering 38 places, moving from 40th to second, accumulating 829 rating points. His exceptional series saw him score 279 runs at an average of 55.80, culminating in a breathtaking 135-run innings off just 54 balls in the fifth T20I, which included seven fours and thirteen sixes. He trails only Australia’s Travis Head (855 points) for the top spot.
India now boasts three batsmen in the top 10: Tilak Varma (803 points) at third and captain Suryakumar Yadav (738 points) at fifth, both dropping one position each.
