**Madurai, February 5, 2025** – A Madurai court sentenced four men to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹1 lakh each for smuggling 70 kg of ganja in 2021. The First Additional Special Court for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act Cases handed down the sentence to S. Alagupandi, A. Muthupandi, S. Sethupathi, and M. Raja Prabhu on Tuesday. The men were apprehended during a vehicle check on February 4, 2021, by Austinpatti police, who discovered the ganja hidden on two motorcycles. Judge A.S. Hariharakumar presided over the case.
