Thu Feb 06 11:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Modi Accuses Congress of Ignoring Constitution, Prioritizing Family Over Nation

**New Delhi:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a parliamentary address, accusing it of consistently disregarding the Indian Constitution and prioritizing the interests of a single family over the nation’s development.

Modi asserted that the Congress’s approach fundamentally contradicts the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (development for all, with the participation of all), a cornerstone of his government’s policies. He characterized the Congress model as one of “family first,” alleging that expecting inclusive growth from them would be a “huge mistake.”

The Prime Minister highlighted several instances to support his claims. He cited the granting of constitutional status to the OBC panel, a move he contrasted with the Congress’s alleged past rejection of similar demands. He further criticized Congress’s historical treatment of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, accusing them of conspiring against him and delaying his Bharat Ratna award. Modi also accused the Congress of engaging in appeasement politics during its tenure.

In contrast, Modi presented his government’s approach as one focused on national interests and inclusive growth, citing the 10% reservation for economically weaker sections of the general category as an example. He lauded the President’s address as inspirational and effective, while noting the varying interpretations offered by both the ruling and opposition parties.
