**New Delhi, [Date of Publication]** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the date for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) 2025. The exam, which will be conducted in pen-and-paper format using OMR sheets, is scheduled for **April 5th, 2025**. The exam grants admission to classes 6 and 9 in Sainik Schools across India.

Eligibility criteria vary by class. For Class 6, applicants must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31st, 2023. Girls are eligible for admission to Class 6 in all Sainik Schools. Class 9 applicants must be between 13 and 15 years old as of March 31st, 2025, and have passed Class 8 from a recognized school. Girl’s admission to Class 9 is subject to vacancy availability.

Sainik Schools are English-medium, residential schools affiliated with the CBSE board. They prepare cadets for entry into prestigious institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. Currently, there are 33 Sainik Schools nationwide, with the Ministry of Defence approving the establishment of an additional 35 schools in partnership with NGOs, private schools, and state governments.
