The film follows Arjun (Ajith) and Kayal (Trisha), a couple whose 12-year marriage falls apart. Arjun takes Kayal to her parents’ home, but their car breaks down en route. A delivery truck driver couple, Rakshit (Arjun) and Deepika (Regina), help them, offering to take Kayal to a nearby cafe. Upon arriving, Arjun discovers Kayal missing, launching a search that unravels several mysteries. The plot revolves around whether Arjun finds his wife.
Director Magizh Thirumeni delivered a film described as unlike typical Ajith films, largely devoid of commercial elements. Ajith’s performance is praised for its understated nature, avoiding typical star-driven antics. The first half is compared favorably to Hollywood thrillers, boosted by stunning Azerbaijan locations, cinematography, and music. The pacing is brisk, skillfully building tension.
However, the film falters in the second half. A crucial twist revealed mid-film is prematurely resolved, leaving the audience anticipating a weak resolution. Scenes of Ajith withdrawing money from a bank and searching for Trisha are criticized for slowing the momentum and creating a sense of stagnation. The engaging elements of the first half are noticeably absent.
While the film provides Ajith with a new dimension in his acting career, the thriller’s simplistic plot and lack of clever twists disappoint. Trisha’s role is minimal. The cinematography is highlighted as a strength, capturing the beauty of Azerbaijan. Anirudh’s music is appreciated, although the background score could have been improved.
