Tue Feb 04 21:20:00 UTC 2025: ## “Another Simple Favor” to Premiere at SXSW, Amidst Blake Lively’s Legal Battle

**Austin, TX** – The world premiere of “Another Simple Favor,” the sequel to the hit comedy, will open the 2025 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival on March 7th, organizers announced Tuesday. Starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, reprising their roles from the 2018 original, the film will then be available for streaming on Prime Video beginning May 1st.

The film’s director, Paul Feig, expressed his excitement about the SXSW premiere, stating it’s “a bucket-list event” and a return to a festival where he previously launched successful films. The ensemble cast also includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney.

The announcement comes amidst Lively’s ongoing legal battle with “It Ends With Us” director and co-star Justin Baldoni. Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni alleging sexual harassment and a smear campaign, while Baldoni countersued for defamation and extortion. Feig has publicly supported Lively, dismissing online rumors that the sequel’s release was delayed due to the legal proceedings. Kendrick, who also recently made her directorial debut, described the reunion with Lively as “lovely,” highlighting the strong chemistry between the two stars.
