**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, February 4, 2025** – A five-day national workshop on “Radiochemistry and applications of radioisotopes” commenced today at Rajahmundry Government Degree College. Organized in collaboration with the Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and Allied Scientists (IANCAS) and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC-Mumbai), the workshop features lectures from leading scientists and experts in various nuclear fields.
The inaugural address was delivered by P.K. Mohapatra, former BARC Director (Radiochemistry Division). Day one focused on the crucial role of radiation in diverse sectors including healthcare, agriculture, food production, energy, and sewage treatment. Presentations were also given by IANCAS Convener P.S. Ramanjaneyulu and other prominent scientists. The workshop is expected to continue until February 8th.
