**COIMBATORE, INDIA – February 4, 2025** – The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) and the Georgia Indo American Chamber of Commerce (GIACC) have solidified their economic partnership by renewing their Memorandum of Agreement for another three years. This follows a successful exchange program last year where a large Coimbatore delegation visited Georgia, resulting in 10 Codissia members establishing offices in the US state.
A 21-member GIACC delegation is currently in Coimbatore for a four-day visit, participating in a conference focused on empowering Coimbatore’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the global market. Further meetings are scheduled to discuss investment and business opportunities in both India and Georgia.
The GIACC has also established a new trade office in Coimbatore to facilitate this growing collaboration. GIACC representatives highlighted Georgia’s attractive business environment, citing low cost of living, a robust 6.5% annual economic growth, and its status as a preferred base for numerous US companies. They emphasized the potential for Coimbatore businesses to leverage Georgia as a springboard for expansion across the US market.
Codissia president M. Karthikeyan briefed the delegation on the association’s activities and Coimbatore’s industrial strengths. This renewed agreement signals a significant step forward in fostering economic growth and collaboration between Coimbatore and Georgia.
