**Mangaluru, February 4, 2025** – Twenty-four young Hindustani classical musicians from across India will converge in Mangaluru for the two-day “Yuv Mahotsav” national music festival. The event, organized by the Sangeet Bharati Foundation, will take place at Don Bosco Hall from February 8th to 9th.
The festival will feature a final competition showcasing twelve vocalists and twelve instrumentalists, each performing a 15-minute piece. A panel of renowned musicians, including Pandit Ronu Mujumdar, Ustad Rafique Khan, and Vidushi Purnima Bhat Kulkarni, will judge the competition. The top three vocalists and instrumentalists will each receive a ₹60,000 cash prize and perform a 30-minute recital on February 9th.
The festival will also include a masterclass on February 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. led by prominent musicians Ustad Rafique Khan, Pandit Ronu Mujumdar, Shashank Makedar, and Vidushi Purnima Bhat Kulkarni. The masterclass is open to music lovers and students for a registration fee of ₹500.
The festival will conclude with a special performance by Pandit Ronu Mujumdar, Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi, and Ustad Rafique Khan, accompanied by Pandit Yashwant Vaishnav on tabla and Narendra L. Nayak on harmonium. The event promises a vibrant display of young talent and a unique opportunity for music enthusiasts.
