Mon Feb 03 11:40:00 UTC 2025: **Former LSU Football Player Kyren Lacy Pleads Not Guilty in Deadly Crash**
**Lafourche Parish, LA –** Former LSU football standout Kyren Lacy, arrested on January 10th on charges of negligent homicide in connection with a December 2024 fatal car accident, has entered a plea of not guilty through his attorney. The crash resulted in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall.
Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, released a statement asserting Lacy’s innocence. Ory claims that the collision wasn’t caused by Lacy’s driving. He alleges that a separate vehicle crossed the center line and struck Hall’s vehicle, in which Hall was a passenger. Ory stated that this other vehicle received a citation. He further maintains that Lacy’s vehicle never struck Hall’s vehicle and that there was no evidence of alcohol or drug use on Lacy’s part.
Ory addressed reports of Lacy’s activities following the crash, including posting graduation photos and continuing training. He explained these actions were not intended to downplay the tragedy but stemmed from Lacy’s belief that he wasn’t at fault. He emphasized Lacy’s history as a positive community member and teammate, urging against premature judgment.
Lacy turned himself in on January 12th and was released on $151,000 bail. The case is ongoing, and Lacy’s attorney says he will vigorously defend his client.
