Mon Feb 03 12:28:07 UTC 2025: **Indian Cricketer Sanju Samson Out for a Month After Fracture**

MUMBAI, INDIA – Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson will be sidelined for at least five to six weeks after fracturing his right index finger during the fifth T20I against England. The injury occurred when he was struck by a 150 kph delivery from England’s Jofra Archer.

Samson, who had a disappointing T20I series against England, will miss the upcoming Ranji Trophy quarterfinals for Kerala. A BCCI source confirmed that the injury requires rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) before he can return to competitive cricket. His earliest return is expected to be with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The injury adds to a challenging period for Samson, who, despite recent centuries against Bangladesh and South Africa, struggled against England’s pace attack, consistently dismissed early in the innings. He will now miss India’s next white-ball assignments, with his return likely in an away series against Bangladesh in August.
