ALLENTOWN, PA – Freezing rain has prompted widespread school delays across the Lehigh Valley. Multiple school districts, including Easton Area, Bethlehem Area, Nazareth Area, Bangor Area, and Allentown, have announced two-hour delayed openings. Further delays have been reported for Northampton Area, Wilson Area, Parkland, and Whitehall-Coplay, as well as several charter and private schools. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania, and Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties in New Jersey. While rain is expected, it will do little to alleviate the existing precipitation deficit.
