**Belgorod, Russia – February 2, 2025** – A Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian village of Malinovka, located near the border with Ukraine, resulted in the death of one civilian, according to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region. The attack occurred overnight, and the victim succumbed to their injuries before emergency services could arrive. Governor Gladkov made the announcement via Telegram.
The Russian Ministry of Defence reported the destruction of five Ukrainian drones over Russian territory, including one over the Belgorod region. Ukraine has not yet commented on the incident. Both sides continue to deny targeting civilians, despite the ongoing conflict that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
