Sun Feb 02 15:55:57 UTC 2025: ## Hindu Nationalist Brigade Launches in Karnataka Amidst Political Turmoil

**Vijayapura, Karnataka –** A new Hindu nationalist organization, the Krantiveera Brigade, is set to launch Tuesday in Basavana Bagewadi, Vijayapura district, with an expected attendance of over 100,000 people, according to former Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa. The brigade aims to protect Hindus and will provide training to religious leaders in rituals and temple management. The launch event will feature a large procession and the participation of 1,008 heads of religious maths and institutions.

Eshwarappa stated that the initiative has garnered widespread support across North Karnataka, exceeding his expectations. He emphasized the inclusion of people from all communities, including Dalits and backward communities, in the brigade’s membership. He also highlighted the financial difficulties faced by many religious institutions and stated that the brigade will offer support.

The launch comes against a backdrop of significant political instability in Karnataka. Eshwarappa criticized the current state of affairs in all major political parties – the Congress, BJP, and JD(S) – citing a lack of internal cohesion and leadership. He specifically pointed to the open competition for the Chief Minister’s post within the Congress and the apparent lack of ideology and strong leadership within the state BJP unit. He also voiced his support for electing party presidents within parties, advocating for a more democratic process.
