**Pune, India:** Axar Patel achieved a significant milestone in India’s fourth T20I match against England in Pune. By taking a wicket, he surpassed Kuldeep Yadav to become the seventh highest wicket-taker for India in T20I cricket, reaching a total of 70 wickets.

Patel’s wicket, that of England opener Phil Salt, came in his three-over spell, where he conceded 26 runs at an economy rate of 8.70. He now sits behind Bhuvneshwar Kumar (90 wickets), Hardik Pandya (94 wickets), Yuzvendra Chahal (96 wickets), Arshdeep Singh (98 wickets), and the top two, Ravichandran Ashwin (72 wickets). Kuldeep Yadav previously held the seventh position with 69 wickets from 39 innings in 40 matches.

In his T20I career spanning 69 matches (67 innings), Patel boasts an impressive average of 22.07. He is also a valuable contributor with the bat, having scored 515 runs in 42 innings at an average of 19.07. This achievement further solidifies Patel’s position as a key player in India’s T20I setup.
