Sun Feb 02 14:50:00 UTC 2025: ## India Clinches T20 Series Win Against England, Abhishek Sharma Blasts Record-Breaking Century

**Mumbai, India:** India secured a resounding 3-2 victory in the five-match T20I series against England, culminating in a spectacular display of batting at the Wankhede Stadium today. Abhishek Sharma stole the show, smashing a record-breaking 125 runs off 54 balls – the highest ever score by an Indian in a T20I – punctuated by seven fours and thirteen sixes. This breathtaking innings, however, ended in the 18th over when he was dismissed by Adil Rashid.

England, having won the toss and opted to bowl, found themselves on the receiving end of a blistering assault from the Indian batsmen. While Sanju Samson’s innings was short-lived (16 runs off 7 balls), Sharma’s partnership with Tilak Varma (23 runs) laid the foundation for India’s massive total. Despite the dismissals of Varma, Shivam Dube (30), Hardik Pandya (9), and Rinku Singh (9), the damage was already done.

The Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, made one change to their playing XI, resting Arshdeep Singh and bringing in Mohammad Shami. While Yadav himself fell relatively early (2 runs), the rest of the Indian batting lineup proved too strong for England.

England, who failed to deliver a consistent performance across all departments throughout the series, will be looking to improve their game in future matches. Their bowling attack, despite containing the likes of Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid, couldn’t contain the Indian onslaught. Their batting lineup, too, struggled to match the firepower displayed by the hosts. The series win marks a resounding triumph for India.
