**Mumbai, India** – Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s action thriller, *Deva*, debuted with underwhelming box office numbers. The film, released on Friday, January 31st, earned a mere Rs 5.5 crore on its opening day, significantly lagging behind Shahid’s previous successes like *Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya* and *Kabir Singh*.

While Saturday saw a slight improvement, with collections rising to Rs 6.42 crore (a 16.73% increase), the film’s total weekend earnings of Rs 11.92 crore still pale in comparison to his previous hits. Even films like *Batti Gul Meter Chalu*, which ultimately underperformed, outperformed *Deva*’s opening weekend. The film’s performance only slightly surpassed that of Shahid’s *Jersey*.

*Deva*’s low occupancy rate of 13.07% on Saturday, despite improving throughout the day, further highlights its struggle to attract audiences. Although the film boasts a star-studded cast including Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, and Kubbra Sait, along with music by Vishal Mishra and cinematography by Amit Roy, it has failed to generate the expected buzz at the box office. The film’s performance even fell slightly behind Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s *Sky Force*, which is already in its second week of release. The film’s future box office prospects remain uncertain.
