**Mumbai, India** – Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated action thriller, “Deva,” saw a slight increase in box office collections on its second day. While the film had a slow opening on day one, earning ₹5.78 crore (approximately $700,000 USD) in India, it managed to garner ₹6.25 crore (approximately $760,000 USD) on day two, bringing its two-day total to ₹12.03 crore (approximately $1.46 million USD).

Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s “Sky Force,” which was released earlier, “Deva” has managed to surpass several recent films in its opening weekend. It has outperformed Kangana Ranaut’s “Emergency” (₹6.1 crore in two days) and Rasha Thadani’s “Azaad” (₹6.77 crore lifetime collection). Globally, “Deva” crossed ₹10 crore (approximately $1.2 million USD) on its opening day.

The film, a remake of the 2013 Tamil film “Mumbai Police,” features Shahid Kapoor in the lead role as a police officer, alongside Pooja Hegde. Directed by Roshan Andrews, “Deva” is receiving positive feedback from audiences, despite its comparatively modest box office performance compared to other major releases. The film’s success will likely depend on its performance over the weekend.
