**Hyderabad, February 2, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a marathon meeting with ministers on Saturday to address concerns over the Union Budget’s perceived discrimination against the state. The meeting, held at the Police Command Control Centre, focused on the lack of financial commitment and project announcements for Telangana in the national budget. Ministers briefed reporters afterward, expressing serious discontent over the allocation. A presentation detailing central funding for state schemes was also given as the state prepares its own budget in the coming months.
The meeting also addressed the upcoming state budget, with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stating that a comprehensive household survey report on Backward Classes (BCs) will be discussed in the Cabinet on February 5th and presented to the Assembly. Health Minister Damodar Rajnarsimha added that the one-man commission report on Scheduled Caste (SC) reservation categorization will also be discussed in the Cabinet and Assembly.
Internal party tensions were also reportedly discussed. The meeting touched upon a recent dinner gathering of several MLAs, mostly first-timers, which sparked concern within the government. While the Chief Minister reportedly downplayed the event, the MLAs allegedly discussed the perceived uneven distribution of funds, favoring ministers’ constituencies, and a minister’s unresponsiveness to their requests. Some MLAs involved denied attending the dinner, with one MLA, Nayini Rajender Reddy, even threatening legal action against media outlets reporting his presence. A group of MLAs reportedly plan to raise their concerns directly with the Chief Minister and the party high command.
