Sat Feb 01 14:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Social Security February 2025 Payments Begin Arriving January 31st
**Washington, D.C. –** The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced the payment schedule for February 2025 Social Security benefits. Due to February 1st falling on a Saturday, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments will be disbursed early, on Friday, January 31st. This mirrors a similar early payment in November 2024.
Regular Social Security retirement, disability, and survivor benefits will be paid out between February 3rd and 28th, with the exact date depending on the recipient’s birthdate (or the birthdate of the person whose earnings record the benefit is based on). Those receiving benefits based on claims filed after May 1, 1997, will receive payments on either the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of the month.
The February payments incorporate the recent 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), resulting in a small increase to monthly checks—approximately $50 for the average recipient. The SSA anticipates a similar, modest increase in 2026.
Recipients who don’t receive their electronic payments on the scheduled date are advised to contact their bank or the SSA directly at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778). A more detailed 2025 payment schedule is available on the Kiplinger website.
