Sat Feb 01 19:50:00 IST 2025: ## Bangladeshi Man Reunites with Family After 12 Years in India

**Nagaayalanka, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh:** A Bangladeshi man, Mohammad Mosilim Uddin (Samrat Munto Biswas), has been reunited with his family after 12 years thanks to the efforts of Nagaayalanka police and the power of social media.

Biswas was found wandering near Nachugunta village in 2013. A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) alerted the police, who discovered he was an illegal immigrant. He was arrested, tried, and served a two-year prison sentence. Upon his release in 2015, he was left at the Nagaayalanka police station with no known relatives.

For the next ten years, the police took care of Biswas. Unable to locate his family, Nagaayalanka SI Rajesh posted Biswas’s details and photograph on Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram. This online appeal finally reached his family in Bangladesh.

After obtaining the necessary permits from the Bangladesh Border Coast Guard, Biswas was handed over to West Bengal authorities at the Haridaspur check post. Police reported Biswas was overjoyed to be reunited with his loved ones.
