NAGAYALANKA, INDIA – In a heartwarming display of compassion and dedication, Nagaon police successfully reunited a Bangladeshi national with his family after a decade-long ordeal. Mohammad Mosellim Uddin (also known as Samrat Mounto Biswas), who had illegally entered India in 2013, served a two-year prison sentence after his arrest in Nachugunta village.

Following his release in 2015, Uddin remained in the custody of Nagaon police due to the inability to locate his relatives. Local police provided him with food and shelter. Sub-Inspector K. Rajesh, utilizing social media and persistent communication with higher authorities, finally located Uddin’s family.

With the assistance of Krishna district SP and Avanigadda DSP and CI, Uddin was handed over to his family members at the Bangladesh border near Haridaspur in West Bengal on Wednesday. SI Rajesh reported that Uddin expressed immense joy upon seeing his family. This successful reunification highlights the Nagaon police’s commitment to humanitarian efforts beyond their regular duties.
