**Hyderabad, January 25, 2025** – A 36-year-old Hyderabad resident lost over ₹4.09 lakh after falling victim to a cybercrime scam. The man clicked on a malicious APK link sent by a fraudster posing as a representative of the Prime Minister’s Kisan Yojana, promising subsidized loans. The link allowed the fraudster to hack the victim’s phone and access his bank accounts via OTP.

Despite contacting his banks, ICICI and IDFC, to report the fraudulent transactions, ₹4.07 lakh was debited from his credit cards. Hyderabad cybercrime police have registered a case following the victim’s complaint. Authorities are investigating the incident and urging citizens to remain vigilant against such online scams.
