Fri Jan 24 18:40:19 UTC 2025: ## Zee5’s “Hisaab Barabar” Fails to Add Up, Despite Promising Premise
**Mumbai, India** – Zee5’s latest release, “Hisaab Barabar,” starring R Madhavan, falls short of expectations despite a compelling premise. The Jio Studios film follows Radhe Mohan Sharma (Madhavan), a meticulous railway ticket examiner, as he battles a corrupt private bank that systematically defrauds its customers. While the David-versus-Goliath narrative holds potential, the film’s execution is hampered by a predictable plot and uneven pacing.
The film centers on Radhe Mohan’s discovery of a discrepancy in his bank account, sparking a relentless crusade against the bank owner, Mickey Mehta (Neil Nitin Mukesh), and his connections with a corrupt politician. Although Madhavan delivers a solid performance as the determined protagonist, the film’s weak points include a lackluster supporting cast, underdeveloped characters (including Kirti Kulhari’s role), and a meandering storyline that fails to build sufficient momentum.
While the film attempts to highlight the resilience of the common man against a powerful system, its uneven tone, shifting between mildly humorous and overly serious, prevents it from achieving a cohesive narrative. Although certain moments connect with audiences due to their relatability, these are too few and far between.
Despite the central conflict and Madhavan’s performance, “Hisaab Barabar” ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying cinematic experience. Its predictable plot and underdeveloped characters overshadow the film’s core message, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment. The film is currently streaming on Zee5.
