**Nashville, TN** – A shooting at Antioch High School Wednesday morning left one 16-year-old female student dead and another 17-year-old male student with a graze wound. The shooter, identified as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson, a student at the school, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident occurred around 11:11 a.m. in the school cafeteria. Police Chief John Drake reported that Henderson confronted the female victim, Josselin Corea Escalante, before opening fire. A fourth student sustained a facial injury unrelated to gunfire.
Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) responded swiftly, containing the situation and confirming there was no further threat to the public. The school was placed on lockdown, and students were bused to a reunification center at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital. Antioch High School will remain closed for the rest of the week.
