Thu Jan 23 23:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Sehwag and Wife Separate After 20 Years of Marriage
**New Delhi, India** – Former Indian cricket captain Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, are reportedly separating after two decades of marriage. The couple, who wed in 2004, have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram and have been living separately for several months. While neither Sehwag nor Ahlawat has publicly commented, sources close to the family suggest a divorce is likely.
The Hindustan Times reported that the separation follows a period of growing distance between the couple. The news gained traction after Sehwag shared Diwali photos on social media featuring his sons, Aryavir and Vedant (born in 2007 and 2010 respectively), and his mother, but notably excluding Ahlawat. A subsequent trip to the Palakkad Vishwanath Temple, documented on Sehwag’s Instagram without mention of his wife, further fueled speculation.
Ahlawat, a Delhi University graduate with a diploma in computer science, has largely stayed out of the public eye. The couple’s marriage, which took place at the residence of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, was preceded by a courtship that began in the early 2000s.
Sehwag retired from international cricket in 2015, leaving behind a distinguished career that included 104 Test matches, 251 ODIs, and 19 T20 Internationals for India. He is remembered for his aggressive batting style and was a key member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning team. He was also the first Indian cricketer to score a triple century in Test cricket.
