**Nashik, Maharashtra –** Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday accused Sharad Pawar of neglecting the development of cooperative mills in Maharashtra during his tenure as Agriculture Minister. Speaking at a Cooperatives conference in Nashik, Shah challenged Pawar to account for his actions during his 10 years as Agriculture Minister, a portfolio which included oversight of the Cooperative Ministry. Shah highlighted the alleged lack of progress made for sugar mills and farmers under Pawar’s leadership.
Shah contrasted Pawar’s record with the achievements of the current BJP government, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi with resolving a long-standing tax dispute affecting cooperative sugar factories in Maharashtra. He also lauded the establishment of the Cooperation Ministry, calling it the fulfillment of a 75-year-old demand.
The conference was attended by several dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohal, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP State president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and former NCP Minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
