**Bengaluru, January 24, 2025** – Jharkhand’s Agriculture Minister, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, visited the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) in Bengaluru on Friday to explore collaborations aimed at boosting the state’s farming sector. The visit included discussions with IIHR officials and a tour of key facilities, including the Centre of Excellence in High-tech Horticulture and the Food Safety Referral Lab.
The Minister expressed Jharkhand’s keen interest in adopting IIHR’s expertise in high-tech horticultural practices, farmer training, and efficient seed and planting material distribution using a commodity-based business model. IIHR officials showcased the institute’s six decades of contribution to horticulture and the national economy, highlighting current projects already underway in Jharkhand. The discussions focused on potential areas of partnership to modernize and improve horticultural practices in the state.
